Collegiate Sit & Win Competition terms and conditions

How to Enter

Customers will have the opportunity to sit on a Collegiate Saddle to feel the comfort of the saddle and then have their photo taken with their own phone/ camera to upload their photo on Horseland Facebook , then tell us in 25 words or less “ why they like the Collegiate Saddle “

Entry is free and open to Australian residents. No purchase is necessary to participate.

Entry to the competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. All entry and prize information published by the promoter also forms part of these Terms and Conditions.

Competition Dates

Entries  at 9am (AEST )on Sunday May 1st 2016 and closes on Sunday May 15th 2016 at 11.59pm (AEST)

All entries must be submitted to the promoter within the competition period. Late entries will not be accepted by the promoter. Entries deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the promoter. Records of the promoter are final and conclusive as to the time of receipt. The promoter takes no responsibility for late or misdirected competition entries, or for any delays or failures in any communications services or requirement

Eligibility Criteria

Entry into the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Promotion, entrants accept and acknowledge full responsibility for their decision to participate in the Promotion and to take a prize if they are drawn as a winner. All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter, form part of these Terms and Conditions. To enter, you must be a must be a citizen of Australia. Entrants aged less than 18 years must obtain the consent of their parent or legal guardian to enter the promotion and provide personal information about them. All entries of Entrants who are under the age of 18 years and enter the promotion without disclosing (or attempting to conceal) their age (as and where required) and/or do not provide the required parental or guardian consent (as and where required) will be deemed invalid. These Conditions of Entry will bind the Entrants and any parent or legal guardian who gives their consent (for Entrants aged less than 18 years). If any prize winner is aged less than 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the parent or legal guardian who consented to the winner entering the promotion on behalf of the winner, at the discretion of the Promoter.

Horseland employees and their immediate family members are not eligible. Immediate family includes only spouses, parents and children.


There are 6 State Prizes (6) prize to be won. Total value of the prize is $3,000.00 RRP based on RRP published prices at the time of the competition.  Each Prize per state, consists of a $500 RRP pack of goods for the Rider and the Horse.

Each prize will consist of the following:

  • Dublin Performance ( Flex Zone) Tights  x1 $109.99
  • Dublin Silverline Helmet                           x1   $79.99
  • Collegiate Bridle (to the value of )            x1  $249.99
  • WeatherBeeta Performance Saddle Pad  x1  $99.99

The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.

Judging and prize winners

The Judges will award the major prize in each state to the entrant whose name appears on the entry. This is a game of skill. The judging will take place on Monday May 16th 2016 at 8 Moncrief Rd Nunawading. The 6 prizes- one prize per state will be awarded on Tuesday May 17th 2016 and the winners will be notified via FACEBOOK, email, and phone within seven (7) days of the prize being awarded. The Winner will be contacted by Horseland to nominate the size / colour of the products in the pack won and can then collect their Prize at the Horseland Store in the State in which the winner entered the competition within 28 days.

Inappropriate Content will be rejected and not included as an entry into the competition. Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered. We retain sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content


Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.

If an Entrant participates in the promotion and also chooses to “opt-in” to sign up to Horseland Hors-e-News, the Entrant acknowledges that a further primary purpose for collection of the Entrant’s personal information by the Promoter is to enable the Promoter to use the information to assist the Promoter in improving goods and services and to contact the Entrant in the future with information on special offers or provide the Entrant with marketing materials via any medium including mail, telephone and commercial electronic messages (SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Message Service), IM (Instant Messaging) and email) or any other form of electronic, emerging, digital or conventional communications channel whether existing now or in the future. The Promoter may share information with its Australian related companies or promotional partners who may contact the Entrant with special offers in this way. By entering the promotion and opting-in to sign up to Horseland Rider Rewards Club, an Entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Promoter may use the Entrant’s personal information in the manner set out in this condition.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify any statutory consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded, limited or modified at law (Non-Excludable Guarantees).  Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, directors employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition.

Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, directors employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of:

  1. any technical or communication difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
  2. any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
  3. any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, incomplete, ineligible, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
  4. any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; or
  5. use of a prize.

If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, prohibition by the relevant authorities or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition), the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition as it sees fit.  Any entry which is made as a result of tampering with the entry process will be invalid and not eligible for judging and/or any prizes.   The Promoter has no liability to any entrants or voters in the event that the Competition is cancelled, terminated, modified or suspended in accordance with this clause.

All claims and entries become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter requires your personal information in order to conduct the Promotion.  If you do not provide the mandatory information requested then you will not be able to take part in the Competition.  By entering this Competition, each entrant is taken to consent to the Promoter using the entrant’s personal information to administer the Promotion, announce the winner and disclose the entrant’s personal information to organisations to assist the Promoter with administrating the Competition and announcing the winner, and to third parties as required by law (including authorities that regulate this Competition).  The Promoter is bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and by entering the Competition, the entrant is taken to consent to the Privacy Policy.  By entering into this Competition, each entrant also consents to the Promoter using their personal information for future marketing purposes.  An entrant may access and correct any personal information held by the promoter, upon request to the Promoter.
