Bek Italiano is a 4* star eventing rider who currently has three horses out competing in the star classes. As a busy mum of three young children, and a team of three eventers, Bek must make sure she can utilise the time she has with the horses as best as she can and the Weatherbeeta Therapy-Tec range helps her do this! We sat down with Bek and asked her a couple of questions about the range.
Why do you like the WeatherBeeta therapy-tec range?
The WeatherBeeta Therapy-Tec range is extremely useful for riders like me that are busy and a little time poor. With these products, I’m able to use them when travelling, whilst I’m tacking up and overnight in the stables/yards. The main perk about these products is I don’t have to supervise the horses in them, they’re safe products that can be left on overnight without doing any damage unlike massage style products that can only be left on for a small amount of time. The unique Ceramic Fabric Technology works to gently increase blood circulation, assisting the warm-up of key muscles prior to exercise which helps prevent injury. With this technology supporting my horses it makes keeping the horses fit and healthy a dream.
What’s your favourite product from this range?
My favourite product from this range is the Therapy-Tec Stable Boot Wraps. I use these boots not only in the stables and yards at competition, but also whilst travelling as they protect the horses’ legs from the hoof to the knee. I particularly love the strong neoprene outer that has four practical touch tape tabs to keep them in place and added fetlock protection shell, which gives me peace of mind for travelling. The inside of the boot is a nice soft material with ceramic infused pad that’s removable and increases blood flow to the area to help prepare muscles for exercise and reduce injury.
How often do you use these products?
I like to use these products every ride. At the moment I’ve been using the WeatherBeeta Therapy-Tec Saddle Pad and WeatherBeeta Therapy-Tec Anatomical Poll Pad each ride, which is 5-6 days a week. I like to use the Therapy-Tec Stable Boot Wraps at competitions and use the WeatherBeeta Therapy-Tec Airstream Standard Neck with them whilst travelling.
Have you noticed a difference after using these products?
I have noticed a difference in using these products especially on my 3* horse Kenlock Cadillac. Cadi has been wearing the WeatherBeeta Therapy-Tec Saddle Pad and WeatherBeeta Therapy-Tec Anatomical Poll Pad each ride. I find his back is much softer and poll is softer aiding in relaxation.
How do these products wash up compared to our standard WeatherBeeta range?
Extremely well! The only thing to keep in mind is washing them at 30 ºC in order to keep them in the best possible condition.
